The workspace is where Nodes, attachments, groups, and connections are shown.
Here you can select nodes, arrange nodes, draw connections, and access various menus by right-clicking.
Mini Map:
The mini-map is located on the top right corner of the workspace, and you can collapse or expand it with the arrow buttons.
The mini-map displays the entire workspace area, and pressing anywhere on it will move the workspace camera.
Drawing Connections:
Hold down a node’s slot (attribute circle) and drag your mouse cursor to another node’s slot.
- You can only connect attributes of the same type (same color).
- Inputs (circles on the left) can only be connected to outputs (circles on the right).
- A node can only connect to an attribute on another node.
A yellow connection line will appear if the connection is valid.
Group Node:
Group nodes can be created by right-clicking on an empty spot in the workspace and selecting ‘Create Group Node’ or by selecting two or more nodes and pressing ‘Ctrl + G’.
You can resize the group node by dragging its bottom corners.
Dragging the group title will move it and every node completely inside the group node.
When you press Alt and drag the group title, only the group node will move.
Keyboard/mouse Shortcuts:
To navigate within the workspace:
- Mouse wheel – View zoom in/out.
- Alt + right mouse drag – View zoom in/out.
- Alt + middle mouse drag – View move.
- ‘A’ – Focus on all nodes.
- ‘F’ – Focus on selected nodes.
Other shortcuts:
- Shift + Ctrl + left mouse drag – Add to selection.
- Ctrl + left mouse drag – Remove from selection.
- Shift + left mouse drag – Toggle selection.
- Shift + Ctrl + middle mouse click – Scroll to node or attachment attributes.
- Ctrl + ‘A’ – Select all nodes.
- Ctrl + ‘H’ – Disable selected nodes.
- Shift + ‘H’ – Enable selected nodes.
- ‘H’ – Toggle enable/disable on selected nodes.
- Ctrl + ‘G’ – Create a group around selected nodes.
- Ctrl + ‘D’ – Duplicate selected nodes.
- Ctrl + Shift + ‘D’ – Duplicate and mirror selected nodes.
- Ctrl + ‘X’ – Cut selected nodes.
- Ctrl + ‘C’ – Copy selected nodes.
- Ctrl + ‘V’ – Paste selected nodes.
- Tab (mouse cursor over empty space) – Opens quick-create-node window.
- Tab (mouse cursor over node) – Opens quick-create-attachment window.
